  1. 21. On the impact of temperature perturbations on the creep of sensitive clay

    Författare :Yanling Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermal cycles; sensitive clays; oedometer tests; temperature; natural bonding; apparent preconsolidation pressure; multi-physics modelling; geothermal; static thermal loading;

    Sammanfattning : Temperature affects the soil response, but is not fully understood and quantified and thus often ignored. The temperature fluctuations resulting from energy foundations and construction activities, such as excavations and soil stabilization, however, may lead to changes in the hydromechanical response of the clay. 2. 22. Modeling and Optimization of Reversed-Phase Chromatography : Effects of Modulators and Temperature

    Författare :Karolina Arkell; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reversed-phase chromatography; Hydrophobic interaction chromatography; Mechanistic modeling; INSULIN; KCl; Ethanol; Temperature; Multi-objective optimization; Constraint; Solubility;

    Sammanfattning : Many widespread diseases, such as diabetes, various types of cancer, and aggressive versions of influenza, are treated or prevented with biopharmaceuticals. Biopharmaceuticals are drugs that are based on proteins, peptides, antibodies, attenuated viruses (vaccines), and other biomolecules that are synthesized predominately in bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells. 3. 23. Short-term effects of ambient temperature on daily deaths and hospital admissions

    Författare :Joacim Rocklöv; Bertil Forsberg; Jan Semenza; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; temperature; humidity; weather; climate; climate change; hot; heat; cold; cold spell; cold wave; heat wave; health; hospitalization; hospital admission; death; mortality; morbidity; epidemiology; environmental epidemiology; time series; Public health medicine research areas; Folkhälsomedicinska forskningsområden; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Incidence of death and hospitalizations have been observed to depend on short-term changes in weather and to increase with extreme temperatures. This thesis aims to strengthen the scientific knowledge on the relationship between temperature and daily deaths, but also the relationship between temperature and daily hospital admissions. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The venous circulation in teleost fish -responses to exercise, temperature and hypoxia

    Författare :Erik Sandblom; Göteborgs universitet; []

  5. 25. Droplet size, concentration, and temperature mapping in sprays using SLIPI-based techniques

    Författare :Yogeshwar Nath Mishra; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :Sprays; Optical measurements; Laser diagnostic; Droplet size; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Mishra;

    Sammanfattning : Structured laser illumination planar imaging (SLIPI) is a technique capable of suppressing multiple light scattering effects in optically dense sprays, resulting in spray images without blurs and with enhanced contrast. The novelty of the work presented in this thesis concerns the applications of a variety of SLIPI-based techniques for the measurement of droplet size, droplet concentration, and liquid temperature in atomizing sprays.
