1. Performance evaluations of high-temperature cooling systems in Mediterranean climate
Sammanfattning : Cooling demand in Europe is predicted to grow 25-50% between 2020-2050. Meanwhile, the EU aims to lower the greenhouse gas emissions from its building stock by 60%. Therefore, it is essential to find solutions that can meet the growing cooling demand with less energy and integrate renewable energy sources. LÄS MER
2. Aspects of the Grammar and Lexicon of Sεlεε
Sammanfattning : This thesis is a description of some aspects of the grammar of Sɛlɛɛ, a Ghana-Togo-Mountain (GTM) language, based on my own fieldwork. The thesis consists of an introduction and five papers.Paper (I), Noun classes in Sεlεε, describes the noun class system of Sɛlɛɛ. LÄS MER
3. Effects of Small-Scale Ionospheric Irregularities on GNSS Radio Occultation Signals : Evaluations Using Multiple Phase Screen Simulator
Sammanfattning : Radio Occultation (RO) is a remote sensing technique which uses Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals tracked by a Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite to sound the earth's atmosphere both in low (troposphere, stratosphere) and high (ionosphere) altitudes. GNSS-RO provides global coverage and SI traceable measurements of atmospheric data with high-vertical resolution. LÄS MER
4. Applicability of thermal energy storage in future district heating system - Design methodologies and performance evaluations
Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) enables efficient and economical utilization of energy resources to satisfy the heat and hot water demands in buildings and is, thereby, well-established in Northern European countries. To achieve the future renewable energy system, the current DH systems are proved to undergo transitions towards the future DH systems, with major characteristics including renewable-based heat sources, low temperature networks, lower heating demands and smart controls.
