16. Optimal Transmit Strategies for Multi-antenna Systems with Joint Sum and Per-antenna Power Constraints
Sammanfattning : Nowadays, wireless communications have become an essential part of our daily life. During the last decade, both the number of users and their demands for wireless data have tremendously increased. Multi-antenna communication is a promising solution to meet this ever-growing traffic demands. LÄS MER
17. Wirelessly Powered Communications: From Signal Optimization to Antenna Design
Sammanfattning : Future internet-of-things (IoT) and beyond 5G communication systems are envisioned to offer large-scale wireless connectivity where the different components of life, society and industry are connected in a smart yet sustainable way. The need for continuous battery charging and/or replacement is a bottleneck for sustainability in these systems. LÄS MER
18. Lab work in science education : Instruction, inscription, and the practical achievement of understanding
Sammanfattning : Taking an analytical perspective founded on ethnomethodology and conversation analysis, the four studies presented in this thesis provide detailed analyses of video recorded lab work in mechanics at secondary and university level. The investigated activities all build on educational design afforded by a technology called probeware. LÄS MER
20. Aspects of adaptive mesh refinement in the spectral element method
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the improvement of the efficiency of numerical simulations in computational fluid dynamics. Some of the limitations of current algorithms on future exascale supercomputers are addressed with the main goal of using adaptive mesh refinement for the simulation of turbulent and three-dimensional flows.
