2. Multiscale materials design of hard coatings for improved fracture resistance and thermal stability
Sammanfattning : Physical vapor deposited hard coatings comprised of cubic (c) transition metal (TM)-Al-N, and (TM)-Si-N are the current workhorse materials for a large number of metal cutting and wear resistant applications to fight against the extreme conditions of temperature and stress simultaneously. In spite of a high degree of sophistication in terms of material choice and microstructural design, a lower fracture resistance and limited thermal stability of the coatings remains a technological challenge in the field. 3. Konsten att uppfinna hjulet två gånger : om uppfinnandets teknik och estetik
Sammanfattning : “There is no need to reinvent the wheel” – a cliché, often told when you want to come up with something new that in someway can be connected to something that already exist. This study shows the opposite – that inventions emanate from what is given. LÄS MER
4. Acquisition of Capabilitities through International Technology Transfer
Sammanfattning : The focus in this thesis is on the acquisition of static and dynamic capabilities in LDC industry. This has been studied in small industries in Tanzania, which were started through international technology transfer, in which small producing firms from Sweden acted as technology suppliers (The Sister Industry Programme). 5. Aircraft scheduled maintenance programme development : decision support methodologies and tools
Sammanfattning : The air transport business is large in its operations, integrated, automated and complex. Air carriers are constantly striving to achieve high standards of safety and simultaneously to attain an increased level of availability performance at minimal cost. LÄS MER
