1. Distributed Moving Base Driving Simulators : Technology, Performance, and Requirements
Sammanfattning : Development of new functionality and smart systems for different types of vehicles is accelerating with the advent of new emerging technologies such as connected and autonomous vehicles. To ensure that these new systems and functions work as intended, flexible and credible evaluation tools are necessary. LÄS MER
2. High temperature corrosion of some selected stainless steels and Ni-base alloys – an advanced microscopy study
Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with high temperature corrosion behavior of some selective stainless steels and Ni-base alloys with applications in power generation technologies, e.g. boilers fired by biomass and waste. LÄS MER
3. Determining and Optimizing the Current and Magnetic Field Dependence of Spin-Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators : Toward Next-Generation Nanoelectronic Devices and Systems
Sammanfattning : Spin-torque and spin Hall nano-oscillators are nanoscale devices (about 100 nm) capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency microwave signals ranging from 0.1 GHz to over 65 GHz that several research groups trying to reach up to 200 - 300 GHz. LÄS MER
4. Super duplex stainless steels : Microstructure and propertiesof physically simulated base and weld metal
Sammanfattning : High-temperature processing and application of super duplex stainless steel(SDSS) are associated with the risk of changes in the ferrite/austenite balance and precipitation of secondary phases. This study was therefore aimed at improving knowledge about effects of thermal cycles on the microstructure and properties of SDSS base and weld metal. LÄS MER
5. Mechanical and thermal stability of hard nitride coatings
Sammanfattning : Hard coating’s thermal stability is essential due to the high temperature environment of high-speed cutting applications, while the phase and microstructure evolution induced by exposing the coating to high temperature affects the mechanical properties. In this thesis, the mechanical stability of arc-evaporated, hard, transition metal nitride coatings annealed at high temperature is analyzed and related to the phase and microstructure evolution.
