21. Transport Solutions for Future Broadband Access Networks
Sammanfattning : “Connected society” where everything and everyone are connected at any time and on any location brings new challenges for the network operators. This leads to the need of upgrading the transport networks as the segment of Internet infrastructure connecting the fixed users and mobile base stations to the core/aggregation in order to provide high sustainable bandwidth, as well as supporting a massive number of connected devices. 22. Excess heat utilisation in oil refineries - CCS and algae-based biofuels
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis is to investigate two different concepts for CO2 mitigation, from a system perspective, in relation to the oil refining industry: CO2 capture and storage; and algae-based biofuels. For all these processes, process integration with an oil refinery is assumed. LÄS MER
23. Renewable gas in a Swedish context
Sammanfattning : In order to increase the use of sustainable energy in Sweden, it is necessary to substitute fossil energy carriers with renewable counterparts. Synthetic natural gas (SNG) produced from renewable resources via biomass gasification and methanation could replace a proportion of the natural gas used in Sweden. LÄS MER
24. Techno-economic analysis of integrated biomass gasification for green chemical production
Sammanfattning : Production of renewable motor fuels and green chemicals is important in the development towards a more sustainable society where fossil fuels are replaced. The global annual production of methanol and ammonia from fossil fuels is very large. LÄS MER
25. CO2 electrochemical reduction: Techno-economic evaluation and experimental research for producing methanol
Sammanfattning : Recently, CO2 electrochemical reduction (CO2R) has gained popularity, to cope with the strict environmental rules on greenhouse gas emissions, and to convert CO2 to value-added chemicals/fuels. Ionic liquids (ILs) have been considered as potential media for CO2R owing to their multi-functions in enhancing CO2R solubility and improving CO2R reaction rate and product selectivity. LÄS MER
