16. Lärare tar gestalt : En hermeneutisk studie av texter om lärarblivande på distans
Sammanfattning : Texts, including teachers' responses to students' practice journals, in which a group of trainee teachers and their lecturers reveal their experiences of a distance education programme for primary school teacher training are interpreted in this thesis from within a hermeneutical tradition. Attention is focused first on how students through their texts conceptualise themselves as becoming teachers and also on how their teachers' responses to the students' texts contribute to this process. 17. Negotiating teacher professionalism : on the symbolic politics of Sweden's teacher unions
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to critically investigate and problematize the Swedish Teacher Unions’ use of the concept of professionalism within the political negotiation of how to ascribe meaning and contetnt to the idea of teacher professionalism within contemporary Swedish education debates. Departing from two recent educational reforms – the certification of teachers and the reformation of teacher education – and using theories from the sociology of professions coupled with an institutional approach to the study of organizations this study analyzes how the Teacher Unions construct professional projects in relation to each other as well as in relation to the reforms of the current Ministry of Education. Sammanfattning : Syftet med avhandlingen är att beskriva och analysera argument för matematik i grundskolan och att förstå varför och hur de officiella argumenten förändras, från de argument som återfinns i styrdokument till de argument som förs fram av undervisande matematiklärare. En utgångspunkt är att skolmatematikens villkor och verklighet kan beskrivas genom analys av officiella argument och av lärarstudenters och lärares personliga argument för matematik i grundskolan.
