11. Taxonomy and Phylogeny of Catenulida (Platyhelminthes) with Emphasis on the Swedish Fauna
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on phylogenetic and taxonomic studies of Catenulida (Platyhelminthes). Catenulida is a group of microscopic free-living worms mainly found in freshwater habitats. The Swedish catenulid fauna was previously virtually unknown. LÄS MER
12. Early land plant spores from the Paleozoic of Sweden – taxonomy, stratigraphy and paleoenvironments
Sammanfattning : The Silurian through earliest Devonian, between ca 444 and 412 million years ago, was characterized by significant changes in global climate and environment. At that time, plants and animals had begun to expand the colonization of previous relatively desolate terrestrial landscape. LÄS MER
13. Phylogeny and Taxonomy of Subfamily Zygophylloideae (Zygophyllaceae) with Special Reference to the Genus Fagonia
Sammanfattning : Members of Zygophylloideae are shrubs, shrublets and herbs of arid and semiarid areas of almost all continents, and many of the species are major components of the vegetation in their areas of distribution. A phylogenetic analysis of Zygophylloideae based on noncoding trnL plastid DNA sequences and morphological data, indicates that the currently recognised genera Augea, Tetraena, and Fagonia, are embedded in Zygophyllum. 14. Taxonomy and phylogeny of Dermatocarpon (Verrucariales, lichenized Ascomycotina) with special emphasis on the Nordic species
Sammanfattning : In this thesis Dermatocarpon (Verrucariales, lichenized Ascomycotina) of the Nordic countries is revised. Useful characters for species identification are epinecral layer type, spore length, medulla sensitivity to Melzer´s Reagent, and lower surface colour anappearance. LÄS MER
15. Late Eocene through Oligocene calcareous nannofossils from the paleo-equatorial Pacific Ocean – taxonomy, preservation history, biochronology and evolution
Sammanfattning : This study aims to unravel the ecological and evolutionary dynamics within the calcareous nannofossil communities at the Eocene/Oligocene (E/O) transition and during the Oligocene time when Cenozoic 'icehouse' conditions were established. The main question this study aims to answer is whether the changes in the nannofossil assemblages were controlled by intrinsic evolutionary trends or if the changes were controlled by environmental factors such as changes in temperature and nutrient availability in the surface water.
