2. Organic acids in root exudates and soil solutions. Importance to calcicole and calcifuge behaviour of plants
Sammanfattning : Many vascular plant species are unable to colonise calcareous sites, the floristic composition of adjacent limestone and acid silicate soils differing markedly. The inability of these 'calcifuge' species to establish themselves and grow on limestone soil appears to mainly be related to their low capacity for solubilising and absorbing phosphate and/or iron from such soils. 3. Carrot Juice Processing - Effects on Various Quality Aspects
Sammanfattning : Carrots are a cold-weather crop well suited for cultivation in the south of Sweden. Carrots are generally rather inexpensive, with a market price below € 1 /kg (Sweden, 2003), whereas fresh carrot juice has a price of around € 5 /kg. LÄS MER
4. Dynamical Analysis of Chemical Activity of Sterically Encumbered Lewis acid/base Pairs
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is about the dynamics analysis of chemical reactions involving a stoichiometric mixture of sterically hindered Lewis base (LB) and Lewis acid (LA) – the so-called frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs). The tool for dynamical description of chemical reactions is the ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations together with the calculation of minimum energy paths (MEPs) on the potential energy surfaces (PESs). 5. Effects of Bio-Ash Amendments on the Metabolism of Ectomycorrhizal Fungi : A Method Development and Metabolomic Study
Sammanfattning : Forest ecosystems have played a fundamental role in the development of our society. Since the beginning of the civilization, forest have provided us with wood as a product for construction, tools, furniture and domestic heating. The well-being of the forest is therefore fundamental to our existence. LÄS MER
