1. TRÖGER´S BASE AS SCAFFOLD FOR SYNTHETIC RECEPTORS
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on the use of the Tröger´s base as organic scaffold for the construction of synthetic receptors for different classes of organic molecules. The structural properties of the Tröger's base, i.e. chirality, rigidity and curvature, allow for synthetic modifications towards the recognition of different molecules. LÄS MER
2. Amino acid sequence and side chain specific synthetic receptors targeting protein phosphorylation
Sammanfattning : Antibodies have become a critical component of many diagnostic assays and are used for therapeutic purposes. Nevertheless they often fail to meet the strict performance demands raised in industry and in the clinic (e.g. stability, reproducibility, selectivity, affinity). LÄS MER
3. Molecularly Imprinted Polymers at the Nanometric Scale: Synthetic Receptors for Chemical Sensors
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, polymerisation techniques or deposition methods have been developed permitting the creation of thin molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) films or patterns and their interfacing with transducer surfaces for biosensor applications. The creation of ultra thin films has been achieved using two different techniques, spin-coating and in-situ polymerization of thin films of monomers containing a sacrificial polymeric porogen, and autoassembly of MIP nanoparticles with the aid of an associative linear polymer. 4. Sperm Membrane Channels, Receptors and Kinematics : Using boar spermatozoa for drug toxicity screening
Sammanfattning : Internal fertilization usually implies that a spermatozoon, with intact attributes for zygote formation, passes all hurdles during its transport through the female genitalia and reaches the oocyte. During this journey, millions to billions of other spermatozoa perish. LÄS MER
5. Bicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes as Scaffolds in Supramolecular Chemistry : From Host-Guest Systems to Hydrogen-Bonded Aggregates
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the use of bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane and its heteroanalogue 1,5- diazabicyclo[3.3. LÄS MER
