  1. 1. Organocatalytic Acylation for the Kinetic Resolution of Secondary Aryl Alcohols : Synthetic Applications and Mechanistic Studies

    Författare :Laura Mesas Sánchez; Peter Dinér; Pavel Kočovský; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kinetic resolution; organocatalysis; secondary alcohols; reaction progress kinetic analysis; Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic acylative kinetic resolution (KR) of aromatic secondary alcohols, using a planar-chiral 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP) organocatalyst.In the first part of this thesis, the substrate scope of the above mentioned process was expanded to aromatic secondary alcohols that contain an extra functional group in the alkyl moiety, such as 1,2-azido alcohols, 2-hydroxy-2-aryl-ethylphosphonates and 2-hydroxy-2-aryl esters. 2. 2. New synthetic routes to azaspiro alkaloids : Applications to the synthesis perhydrohistrionicotoxin

    Författare :Lars Hagberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Perhydrohistrionicotoxin, 1, is related to a family of alkaloids which display pharmacologically interesting properties. The thesis deals with development of new methods for the chemical synthesis of such alkaloids, and is divided into three parts according to the different approaches. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses on the efficiency of the space heating system. In particular, the efficiency factors measure the efficiency of thermal zone. The efficiency factors measures how the energy is used in a space heating. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Advancing the life cycle energy optimisation methodology

    Författare :Hamza Bouchouireb; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Peter Göransson; Rupert J. Baumgartner; José Potting; Tracy Bhamra; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; life cycle energy; vehicle design; optimisation; functional conflicts; livscykelenergi; fordonsdesign; optimering; tvär-funktionella konflikter; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The Life Cycle Energy Optimisation (LCEO) methodology aims at finding a design solution that uses a minimum amount of cumulative energy demand over the different phases of the vehicle's life cycle, while complying with a set of functional constraints. This effectively balances trade-offs, and therewith avoids sub-optimal shifting between the energy demand for the cradle-to-production of materials, operation of the vehicle, and end-of-life phases. 5. 5. Active Flow Control for Aircrafts and Heavy Vehicles

    Författare :Mohammad El-Alti; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Trucks; Drag reduction; Bluff-body; Large-eddy Simulation; Wake; Tilt-rotor wing; optimization; Aircrafts; Heavy vehicles; Active and Passive Flow Control; Response surface methodology; Synthetic-jet Actuator;

    Sammanfattning : Bluff-body flows are dominated by large dissipative vortex-shedding wakes with low mean pressure compared to the high pressure on their frontal area. This induced pressure difference is the major contribution to the total aerodynamic drag. LÄS MER
