  1. 1. Neutron Spectrometry Techniques for Fusion Plasmas : Instrumentation and Performance

    Författare :Erik Andersson Sundén; Göran Ericsson; Sean Conroy; Erik Traneus; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fusion; plasma diagnostics; neutron spectrometry; neutron spectroscopy; MPRu; magnetic proton recoil spectrometer; fusion; ITER; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Neutron are emitted from a deuterium plasma with energies around 2.5 MeV. The neutron spectrum is intimately related to the ion velocity distribution of the plasma. As a consequence, the analysis of neutron energy spectra can give information of the plasma rotation, the ion temperature, heating efficiency and fusion power. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vector Measurements for Wireless Network Devices

    Författare :Efrain Zenteno; Peter Händel; Kristoffer Andersson; Magnus Isaksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vector measurements; radio frequency; synthetic instrumentation; bandwidth extension; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem;

    Sammanfattning : Wireless networks are an iconic technology of today’s modern era, theyare present in our daily activities as can be exemplified by cellular communications,wi-fi, bluetooth, and others. Vector measurements play an importantrole in the design, simulation, and testing of wireless networks and are usedto characterize key devices operating in the radio interface, such as amplifiers,filters, and mixers. 3. 3. Solute exhange across the alveolo-capillary barrier

    Författare :Kristina Nilsson; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; pulmonary oedema.; nuclear medicine; smoking; permeability; rabbit; DTPA; Pulmonary surfactants; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study the transfer of solutes across the alveolo-capillary barrier in experimental models of alveolar surfactant dysfunction and lung injury as well as in smokers. Experimental studies were performed in anaesthetized, and mechanically ventilated animals. LÄS MER

  4. 4. MEMS Interfaces for Bioanalysis Systems

    Författare :Thomas Frisk; Göran Stemme; Andreas Hierlemann; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microfluidic interfacing; microfluidics; µTAS; sample transfer; biosensor; electronic nose; surface tension; quartz crystal microbalance; QCM; narcotics detection; Electronic measurement and instrumentation; Elektronisk mät- och apparatteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with various aspects of using open microfluidic interfaces. Three specific areas of application are studied. The first is air-to-liquid interfacing in biosensors with possibilities for component integration. A micromachined interface for airborne sample-to-liquid and droplet-to-liquid adsorption is discussed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Hydrogeophysics of Tropical Africa : Recent advances and perspectives

    Författare :Elónio Muiuane; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : In the present work an attempt is made to put into perspective the hydrogeophysical investigations for rural water supply carried out over the last two decades in tropical Africa, paying special attention to groundwater targets in the weathered rocks in and above the crystalline basement. The applicability of geophysical techniques in groundwater investigations in tropical Africa, particularly the DC resistivity and electromagnetic techniques is discussed in the light of recent developments in instrumentation, data collection and interpretation procedures.
