    Sammanfattning : Syndecan-1 is a cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan expressing on epithelial cells. Heparan sulfate (HS) chains on syndecan-1 constitute growth factor attachment sites and facilitate growth factors to bind their respective receptors. Their core proteins have a short cytoplasmic domain, a transmembrane domain and a large N-terminal extracellular domain possessing glycosaminoglycan chains.
