  1. 1. A study of contaminated lubricants concerning wear, rheological properties and sample withdrawal

    Författare :Sven Berg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : The wear of a machine, whether it is due to fatigue or abrasive wear, will add contaminants, in the form of particulates, to the system in question. Since a total breakdown of the machine can be rather costly, one wants to be able to foresee breakdowns and increase the machine life. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ultra high-pressure compaction of powder

    Författare :Sven Berg; Javier Oliver; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Sintering at high-pressure improves the properties of the material, either through new sintering aids becoming available or through improving intergranular bonding. This gives the manufactured products potential advantages like faster cut rates, and more precise and cleaner production methods that add up to cost efficiency and competitive edge. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Body mass index, cognitive ability, and dementia : prospective associations and methodological issues in late life

    Författare :Anna Dahl; Stig Berg; Bo Malmberg; Linda Hassing; Eleonor Fransson; Sven Nilsson; Åke Wahlin; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; aging; body mass index; cognition; dementia; epidemiology; longitudinal; population-based; prospective; Older people and ageing; Äldre och åldrande;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of the present study were to investigate the association between overweight and cognitive ability and dementia, and to evaluate the usefulness of self-reported body mass index (BMI) in late life and various data sources commonly used in epidemiological studies to identify persons with dementia. Data were drawn from three population-based studies: the Swedish Adoption/Twin Study of Aging (SATSA), Aging in Women and Men: A Longitudinal Study of Gender Differences in Health Behaviour and Health among Elderly (the Gender Study), and the Finnish Lieto Study. 4. 4. Modelling Alternative Load Paths in Platform-Framed CLT Buildings : A Finite Element Approach

    Författare :Johannes Albert Josef Huber; Mats Ekevad; Ulf Arne Girhammar; Sven Berg; Sigurdur Ormarsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; timber; robustness; finite element method; alternative load paths; disproportionate collapse; Träteknik; Wood Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Timber has become more popular as a construction material during recent years. Engineered wood products, such as glued laminated timber and cross-laminated timber, have enabled the construction of multi-storey buildings. Tall buildings with many occupants need to resist a disproportional collapse in case of unexpected exposures, e.g. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Numerical Modelling of Timber Building Components to Prevent Disproportionate Collapse

    Författare :Johannes A. J. Huber; Sven Berg; Dick Sandberg; Mats Ekevad; Ulf Arne Girhammar; Jan-Willem G. van de Kuilen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; finite element modelling; alternative load paths; cross laminated timber; progressive collapse; CT scanning; fibre reconstruction; image analysis; Träteknik; Wood Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : An increasing number of multi-storey buildings are being constructed with engineered wood products, such as glulam or cross-laminated timber (CLT). Multi-storey timber buildings can be safely designed for foreseeable loads, but knowledge is limited concerning their ability to survive unforeseeable events, e.g. LÄS MER
