  1. 1. Resurstillväxt via innovationskapital

    Författare :Per Staffan Boström; Per-Olof Brehmer; Niklas Myhr; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Resource based view; sustainable growth; resource growth; value growth; management control; economic governance; financial control; immaterial; intangibles; resource; resource base; dynamic capability; factor market; innovation capital; added value; structure capital; resilience; knowledge integration; Resursbaserat synsätt; hållbar tillväxt; resurstillväxt; ekonomisk styrning; immateriell; resurs; resursbas; faktormarknad; innovationskapital; förädlingsvärde; värdetillväxt; strukturkapital; kunskapsintegration;

    Sammanfattning : Under senaste decennierna har en allt större andel av företags resurser utgjorts av s k osynliga tillgångar, immateriella tillgångar, såsom ägarandelar i utvecklingsbolag, investering i avknoppningsbolag och utveckling av idéer i inkubatorer, samtidigt som de resurser som finns under ett företags juridiska kontroll i bland annat samarbetsprojekt inom FoU, relativt sett också har minskat. Resurstillväxt är en central fråga i de organisationer som studeras i denna avhandling men ofta finns en `obalans´ i relationen mellan identifierade materiella/immateriella resurser och oidentifierade immateriella resurser. 2. 2. Towards a Sustainable Resource Management : A Broader Systems Approach to Product Design and Waste Management

    Författare :Jagdeep Singh; Björn Frostell; William Hogland; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Resource Management; Product Design; Waste Management Challenges; Systems Thinking; Sustainability Science; Industriell ekologi; Industrial Ecology; Resource Management;

    Sammanfattning : Rapid economic growth, urbanisation and increasing population have caused (materially intensive) resource consumption to increase, and consequently the release of large amounts of waste to the environment. Numerous technological and operational approaches to resource management have been introduced throughout the system of production, consumption and waste management. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Sustainable agriculture : From global challenges to local land management

    Författare :John Livsey; Stefano Manzoni; Steve Lyon; Esteban Jobbágy; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; NATURAL SCIENCES; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; agriculture; irrigation; nutrients; soil properties; water management; fertilisation; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the success of agriculture management practices in increasing the availability of food needed to meet the requirements of the expanding global population, there are increasing demands placed on the resources on which the sector depends. Opportunities for the development of agricultural systems are constrained by increasing competition, from other sectors, for shared resources. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Natural resources and sustainable energy : Growth rates and resource flows for low-carbon systems

    Författare :Simon Davidsson; Mikael Höök; Gert Jan Kramer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-carbon technology; renewable energy; energy transitions; critical materials; energy metals; material flows; net energy; EROI; life cycle assessment; LCA; growth curves; curve fitting; resource depletion; Natural Resources and Sustainable Development; Naturresurser och hållbar utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Large-scale deployment of low-carbon energy technologies is important for counteracting anthropogenic climate change and achieving universal energy access. This thesis explores potential growth rates of technologies necessary to reach a more sustainable global energy system, the material and energy flows required to commission these technologies, and potential future availability of the required resources. 5. 5. Ecosystem services - a tool in sustainable landscape management

    Författare :Magnus Tuvendal; Thomas Elmqvist; Rudolf de Groot; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ecosystem services; resilience; landscape; resource management; impact assessment; sustainability; sustainable; naturresurshushållning; Natural Resources Management;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I have worked with the ambition of approaching the question of how human-ecology interaction can be articulated in a way that is useful as a vector for societal transformation. The thesis addresses the difficult question of how the ecosystem service framework may help to address mismatches between social and ecological systems. LÄS MER
