16. On various protocols for direct loading of implant-supported fixed prostheses
Sammanfattning : Backgrund: Prosthetic rehabilitation of the edentulous patient with implant-supported bridges is today a routine and predictable treatment modality. The original protocol prescribed a healing period of 3 to 6 months prior to loading which means that the total treatment time can be extensive and that the patients often need to wear removable provisional prostheses during healing and treatment. 17. On large strain theories in sheet metal forming : general theories and numerical considerations with particular emphasis on strain analysis, non-conservative loading and plastic anisotropy
Sammanfattning : The fundamentals of continuum mechanics in large strain problems are treated and analysed. Special emphasis is directed to strain analysis in large deformation problems and a comparison between the different types of strain terms is made. LÄS MER
18. Exploring the Surface of Aqueous Solutions : X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies using a liquid micro-jet
Sammanfattning : The surface behavior of biologically or atmospherically relevant chemical compounds in aqueous solution has been studied using surface-sensitive X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The aim is to provide information on the molecular-scale composition and distribution of solutes in the surface region of aqueous solutions. LÄS MER
19. A study on contact fatigue mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Surfaces subjected to rolling and sliding contacts maysuffer from contact fatigue. This thesisdeals with solidmechanic aspects of contact fatigue including the descriptionand verificationof explaining mechanisms. The new mechanism forsurface initiated contact fatigue is basedon tensile surfacestresses from local asperity contacts. LÄS MER
20. Excess pore water pressure generation in fine granular materials under cyclic loading -A laboratory study
Sammanfattning : Abstract Excess pore water pressure can be generated in subgrades of both railway and pavement sub-structures under cyclic loading caused by heavy traffic. When saturated subgrades are subjected to cyclic loading, excess pore water pressures accumulate over time which then could lead to migration of particles into overlying layers. LÄS MER
