21. Functional Binders at the Interface of Negative and Positive Electrodes in Lithium Batteries
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, electrode binders as vital components in the fabrication of composite electrodes for lithium-ion (LIB) and lithium-sulfur batteries (LiSB) have been investigated.Poly(vinylidene difluoride) (PVdF) was studied as binder for sulfur-carbon positive electrodes by a combination of galvanostatic cycling and nitrogen absorption. 22. NH3-SCR chemistry for NOx abatement: Influence of zeolite support on N2O formation & phosphorus species addition
Sammanfattning : Different lattice arrangements of Si, Al, and O atoms result in a variety of pore dimensions and zeolite channel network systems, giving rise to different physicochemical environments inside the catalyst cage. The objective of the thesis work was to understand the influence of zeolite topology on NH3-assisted SCR chemistry over CHA, MFI, and BEA frameworks, on the formation of N2O and the addition of phosphorus species to attain fundamental insight into NOx emission control. 23. Thin Film and Plasma Characterization of PVD Oxides
Sammanfattning : The state-of-the-art tools for machining metals are primarily based on a metal-ceramic composite(WC-Co) coated with different combinations of carbide, nitride and oxide coatings. Combinations of these coating materials are optimized to withstand specific wear conditions. LÄS MER
24. Porous polymeric materials for chromatography : Synthesis, functionalization and characterization
Sammanfattning : Background: Separation science is heavily reliant on materials to fulfill ever more complicated demands raised by other areas of science, notably the rapidly expanding molecular biosciences and environmental monitoring. The key to successful separations lies in a combination of physical properties and surface chemistry of stationary phases used in liquid chromatographic separation, and this thesis address both aspects of novel separation materials. 25. Biolubricants and Biolubrication
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis work was to gain understanding of the principles of biolubrication, focusing on synergistic effects between biolubricants. To this end surface force and friction measurements were carried out by means of Atomic Force Microscopy, using hydrophilic and hydrophobic model surfaces in salt solutions of high ionic strength (≈ 150 mM) in presence of different biolubricants.
