16. Investigating the effect of extending powder particle size distribution of Ti-6Al-4V produced by powder bed fusion laser beam process : Influence of process parameters on material integrity
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the topic of PBF-LB applied to titanium alloys. Of allalloys, an α + β is chosen, named Ti-6Al-4V. The selection of this particular alloy is driven by its current widespread use in many industrial applications where high strength coupled with low density are both desirable properties. LÄS MER
17. Numerical study of flow boiling in micro/mini channels
Sammanfattning : Boiling phenomena in micro scale has emerged as an interesting topic due to its complexity and increasing usage in micro electronic and mechanical systems (MEMS). Experimental visualization has discovered five main flow regimes: nucleate boiling, isolated bubbles, confine bubbly flow, elongated bubbly (or slug) flow, and annular flow. LÄS MER
18. Hydrodynamics and heat convection in channels with vibrating walls
Sammanfattning : In this work a combined analytical and numerical study of the non-linear effects of transverse wall vibrations on fluid flows are presented. Streaming motions and their effect on heat and mass transfer are investigated for a viscous fluid confined in an infinite channel with flexible walls. LÄS MER
19. Ultra-Wideband Wireless Channels - Estimation, Modeling and Material Characterization
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is focused on the characterization of ultra-wideband wireless channels. The thesis presents results on ultra-wideband communications as well as on the ultra-wideband characterization of materials. The communications related work consisted in the measurement and modeling of outdoor scenarios envisioned for infostation systems. LÄS MER
20. Initial Oxidation Kinetics of Al(111): A Monte Carlo Study
Sammanfattning : Almost all metals around us have a thin oxide layer on top of the bulk metal underneath. Often this oxide film protects the metal against further oxidation, or corrosion. Examples are the oxide film that makes stainless steel "stain-less" or the ones on titanium and aluminium alloys, which are very corrosion resistant. LÄS MER
