21. Nanostructured carbon materials prepared by hole-mask colloidal lithography
Sammanfattning : Research and development of nanofabrication methods can be motivated both formanufacturing of commercially available products like micro electronic componentsand for development of model systems for fundamental and applied science. Thefabrication process developed during this work, hole-mask colloidal lithography(HCL), is primarily oriented towards the latter two, specifically for research in thefields of catalysis, nanoparticle plasmons, and bio- and fundamental physics. 22. Thin Film and Plasma Characterization of PVD Oxides
Sammanfattning : The state-of-the-art tools for machining metals are primarily based on a metal-ceramic composite(WC-Co) coated with different combinations of carbide, nitride and oxide coatings. Combinations of these coating materials are optimized to withstand specific wear conditions. LÄS MER
23. Structural and Electronic Properties of Graphene on 4H- and 3C-SiC
Sammanfattning : Graphene is a one-atom-tick carbon layer arranged in a honeycomb lattice. Graphene was first experimentally demonstrated by Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov in 2004 using mechanical exfoliation of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (exfoliated graphene flakes), for which they received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010. 24. Stimuli-Responsive Materials Derived from Cellulose Nanofibrils : Synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a comprehensive study on stimuli-responsive materials derived from cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs), focusing on their synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation in various applications. Renowned for their biodegradability, renewability, and robust mechanical properties, CNFs are explored in three primary contexts: moisture-responsive actuators, voltage-responsive actuators, and CO2-responsive sensors.
