  1. 21. IL-6 and GLP-1 in body fat regulating parts of the CNS in healthy mice

    Författare :Fredrik Anesten; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IL-6; IL-6Rα; GLP-1; obesity; hypothalamus; brainstem; tanycytes; immunohistochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : It has previously been shown that mice lacking interleukin-6 (IL-6) develop mature onset obesity. The weight-suppressing effects of IL-6 have been assumed to be exerted at a central level, as supported by the fact that ICV- injections, but not peripheral injections of IL-6, increases energy expenditure and decreases body fat in rodents. 2. 22. Functional ecology of ectomycorrhizal fungi : peroxidases, decomposition, spatial community patterns

    Författare :Inga Bödeker; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal forest ecosystems constitute a globally important carbon (C) sink, due to accumulation of complex organic matter, persistent to decomposition. Nitrogen (N) is immobilized in these complex compounds and, thereby, unavailable to the plant community. LÄS MER

  3. 23. CD25+CD4+ regulatory T cells in rheumatic disease

    Författare :Duojia Cao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Human; rheumatic disease; synovial fluid; regulatory T cells; FOXP3; suppression; tolerance; autoimmunity;

    Sammanfattning : CD25+CD4+ T cells represent a unique cell lineage of thymus derived naturally occurring regulatory T cells. The gene Foxp3 (mouse)/ FOXP3(human) is strictly related to their generation in the thymus and their regulatory function in the periphery. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Regulation of Vitamin D 25-hydroxylases : Effects of Vitamin D Metabolites and Pharmaceutical Compounds on the Bioactivation of Vitamin D

    Författare :Maria Ellfolk; Kjell Wikvall; Maria Norlin; Olavi Pelkonen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CYP2D25; vitamin D 25-hydroxylase; transcriptional regulation; vitamin D; CYP2R1; CYP2J2; CYP27A1; phenobarbital; efavirenz; fibroblast; LNCaP; Pharmaceutical biochemistry; Farmaceutisk biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : A 700bp portion of the promoter of CYP2D25, the porcine microsomal vitamin D 25-hydroxylase was isolated and sequenced. The computer analysis of the sequence revealed the existence of a putative VDRE at 220 bp upstream of the transcription start site. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The cell cycle regulators p18Ink4c and p19Ink4d : in vivo studies of their roles in tumorigenesis and development

    Författare :Lisa Nilsson; Olle Heby; Martine Roussel; Klas Wiman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Progression through the G1, S, G2 and M phases of the cell cycle is controlled by cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks) and cyclins. These proteins form active Cdk:cyclin complexes that phosphorylate specific substrates. LÄS MER
