    Sammanfattning : Background: Stem cell transplantation (SCT) offers a chance of cure in children with leukaemia and other life-threatening haematological, immunological, and metabolic diseases that do not respond to conventional treatment. Pre and post SCT, these children receive irradiation, and/or chemotherapy and immunosuppressive agents which like the primary disease may adversely affect the eye, the central nervous system as well as the posterior visual pathways and potentially threaten vision.
