1. Historieintresse och historieundervisning : Elevers och lärares uppfattning om historieämnet
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies teachers’ and students’ conceptions of history and history teaching and aims to explain the importance of an interest in history among teachers and students of the subject. Research on teachers’ conceptions (e.g. LÄS MER
2. Measures that matter : Facilitating literacy through targeted instruction and assistive technology
Sammanfattning : The acquisition of reading skills is one of the most important academic outcomes, as reading enables the individual to acquire knowledge and to actively take part in society. Despite research and educational progress, not all students develop their reading skills to a level that meet academic or societal demands. LÄS MER
3. Quantum properties of light and matter in one dimension
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis concerns topics in non-interacting and interacting quantum physics in one dimension. We present the notions of Wannier functions and tight-binding models. Quantum walks are discussed, quantum mechanical analogues to random walks. LÄS MER
4. Being Good at Teaching: Exploring different ways of handling the same subject in Higher Education
Sammanfattning : This investigation has had three main aims. The first was concerned with revealing and describing the different ways three teachers presented, varied and handled subject matter during three specific lectures in Management Accounting in Higher Education with first year students. 5. Topological Phase Transitions in Magnetic Nanostructures of Dirac Materials
Sammanfattning : Over the past two decades, the discovery of topological Dirac materials, such as topological insulators and semimetals, has defined a new paradigm in condensed matter physics and established new platforms for realizing spin electronic devices and quantum computing. The novel quantum properties of these materials, which are mainly due to the presence of strong spin-orbit coupling, are invariant under topological transformations, making them more resilient to structural disorder, electromagnetic and thermal fluctuations in comparison to the conventional silicon-based materials.
