26. The Art of Cycling – Polymer Electrolytes at Extreme Conditions
Sammanfattning : With the rapid development of batteries for applications like electric vehicles and energy storage devices, it is essential to design and develop batteries with improved safety, long cycle life, and high energy density. To achieve this goal, the development and improvement of solid-state batteries, containing solid polymer electrolytes, is a promising solution. LÄS MER
27. The Rôle of Side-Chains in Polymer Electrolytes for Batteries and Fuel Cells
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis relates to the design of new polymer electrolytes for battery and fuel cell applications. Classical Molecular Dynamics (MD) modelling studies are reported of the nano-structure and the local structure and dynamics for two types of polymer electrolyte host: poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) for lithium batteries and perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) for polymer-based fuel cells. 28. Water in and on ionic materials : Structure, energetics, and vibrations
Sammanfattning : Many chemical and physical phenomena in nature, in industrial processes, and in our daily lives take place at water/solid interfaces. The aim of this thesis is to further our knowledge of such processes at a molecular level. LÄS MER
29. Titanium-Based Negative Electrode Materials for Rechargeable Batteries : In Search of the Redox Reactions
Sammanfattning : Rechargeable batteries, particularly, lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have proven to be stable and reliable energy storage devices over the past few decades. The rapid demands regarding battery applications and the pressure to move away from the fossil fuel era drive the search for new materials for better rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles, renewable energy storage, and portable electronics.
