1. Structural studies of the surface adhesin SspB from Streptococcus gordonii
Sammanfattning : Surface proteins on microorganisms that build up the oral biofilm are key players in the formation of the biofilm. Antigen I/II proteins are surface adhesins found on virtually all oral streptococci and share a conserved multi-domain architecture. These adhesins bind surface components on other bacteria and on host cells. LÄS MER
2. Fighting Tuberculosis – : Structural Studies of Three Mycobacterial Proteins
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the cloning, purification, crystallization, and structural studies of two unknown proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and of an aminotransferase from Mycobacterium smegmatis. Structural knowledge of these proteins is of highest interest for structure-based drug design, which is one of the approaches that can be used in order to fight tuberculosis (TB). LÄS MER
3. Dynamic Knowledge Integration : A field study of an Information Systems Development Project
Sammanfattning : Current research on knowledge integration offers valuable structural analyses of factors that influence knowledge integration, performance outcomes, and knowledge integration mechanisms. Less attention has been paid to how knowledge integration is carried out over time in cross-functional development projects. LÄS MER
4. Structural Studies of Flexible Biomolecules and a DNA-binding Protein
Sammanfattning : The knowledge of the three-dimensional structures of proteins and polypeptides is essential to understand their functions. The work shown in this thesis has two objectives. LÄS MER
5. Structural Violence as a Constraint to African Policy Formation in the 1990s : Respositioning Education in International Relations
Sammanfattning : This study is a meta-analysis of the manner in which global relations impact on national level policy spaces and policy formation. As the International Financial Institutions tighten their grip through the Structural Adjustment Programmes over African countries, and donors steadily shift their ground and push conditionality beyond economic policy into institutional arrangements, the issue of political sovereignty of African countries, and of indirect rule through aid becomes a key concern.
