11. Prefabricated composite bridges : a study of dry deck joints
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with prefabricated composite bridges in general, and prefabricated concrete deck elements with dry joints in particular. As outlined in Paper I and Chapter 2 prefabrication has several advantages over in situ construction, and has hence been discussed for decades in the construction business. 12. Computational Models of Adhesively Bonded Joints
Sammanfattning : Simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) play an increasingly important role in the design process of joints and fasteners in the aerospace industry. In order to utilize the potential of such adhesive bonding, there is an increasing need for effective and accurate computational methods. LÄS MER
13. Structural-acoustic analysis of wall-to-floor joints in timber-framed housing
Sammanfattning : Even though a building meets the regulations with respect to impact sound, structures with wooden frames may receive complaints from the inhabitants due to structure-borne sound in the lower frequencies. In this thesis measuring methods that are more precise than the traditional measuring methods have been used to see if they could give a better knowledge about flanking transmission in the low frequencies in timber-framed structures. 14. Strength and Moisture Aspects of Steel Timber Dowel Joints in Glulam Structures : An Experimental and Numerical Study
Sammanfattning : Joints are critical parts of timber structures, transmitting static and dynamic forces between structural members. The ultimate behavior of e.g. a building depends strongly on the structural configuration and the capacity of its joints. LÄS MER
15. Experiments and Modelling of Composite–Aluminium Bolted Joints
Sammanfattning : The aeronautical industry has always strived towards weight-efficient structures since they improve aircraft performance, enable more fuel or payload, reduce cost of manufacturing and operating the aircraft, and reduce the fuel consumption and emissions. Modern airframes are often built in materials with high strength-toweight and stiffness-to-weight ratio, such as aluminium or fibre composites. LÄS MER
