11. Essays on Household Behavior and Time-Use
Sammanfattning : Essay 1 studies the household's decision to supply labor and tests if the so-called unitary model holds. What is subject to a test is the resulting symmetry of the Slutsky matrix, i.e., that the compensated cross-wage effects are equal. LÄS MER
12. Magnetic and Structural Properties of f-electron Systems from First Principles Theory
Sammanfattning : A series of studies of f-electron systems based on density functional theory methods have been performed. The focus of the studies has been on magnetic and structural properties, as well as investigating ways to handle strong electron correlation in these systems. LÄS MER
13. Alexithymia : studies of alexithymia in relation to somatic complaints, cognitive bias, emotion, and affect intensity
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four studies on alexithymia, measured by the twenty-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), and explores its relation to somatization, cognitive bias, emotion, and affect intensity. Alexithymia, by definition, involves difficulties in identifying and describing emotions, and has been assumed to be associated with somatization. LÄS MER
14. Statistical methods for the detection and analyses of structural variants in the human genome
Sammanfattning : Structural variations (SVs) are an important and abundant source of variation in the human genome, encompassing a greater proportion of the genome as compared to single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). This thesis investigates different aspects of SV analysis, focusing on copy number variations (CNVs) and regions of homozygosity (ROHs). LÄS MER
