  1. 11. Residual stress in a T-butt joint weld : cylinder versus plane plate geometry

    Författare :Berth Eriksson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : The welding process introduces residual stress originating from the heating, melting and cooling of the material. From the point of view of fatigue and stress corrosion cracking, the weld residual stress perpendicular to the weld axis is of particular interest. LÄS MER

  2. 12. On failure of high strength steel bridge roller bearings

    Författare :Pourya Noury; Ove Lagerqvist; Kjell Eriksson; John Yates; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stålbyggnad; Steel Structures;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with failure analysis of high strength steel bridge roller bearings.Paper Adescribes how the commonly used Hertz formulas for contact stresses underestimate the actual stresses in practice due to temperature differences, misalignments and other construction-related conditions. 3. 13. Solid metal induced embrittlement of titanium alloys

    Författare :Pia Åkerfeldt; Melina da Silva; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materialteknik; Engineering Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Titanium alloys were for a time believed to be highly resistant to environmentally assisted cracking because of their ability to form a protective oxide film on the surface. Their resistance can still be considered to be high, but when cracking resistance was originally defined to ensure reliable functionality of fracture-critical components, certain conditions that promote cracking were discovered. 4. 14. High temperature corrosion in a biomass-fired power boiler : Reducing furnace wall corrosion in a waste wood-fired power plant with advanced steam data

    Författare :Yousef Alipour; Pamela Henderson; Peter Szalalos; Christofer Leygraf; Jan Froitzheim; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High temperature corrosion; Waterwalls; Power plant corrosion; NOx reducing enviroments; Biomass; Waste wood; Thermodynamic calculation modelling; corrosion-resistance alloy; Furnace wall corrosion; Högtemperaturekorrosion; Eldstadsväggar; kraftverks korrosion; låg Nox mijöer; biomassa; returträ; Termodynamisk modellering; korrosionsbeständighet legering; eldstadskorrosion;

    Sammanfattning : The use of waste (or recycled) wood as a fuel in heat and power stations is becoming more widespread in Sweden (and Europe), because it is CO2 neutral with a lower cost than forest fuel. However, it is a heterogeneous fuel with a high amount of chlorine, alkali and heavy metals which causes more corrosion than fossil fuels or forest fuel. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Modeling and Simulation of Weld Hot Cracking

    Författare :Joar Draxler; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Jonas Edberg; Paul Åkerström; Jesper Hattel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Several alloy systems are susceptible to weld hot cracking. Weld hot cracking occurs by fracture of liquid films, normally grain boundary liquid films, at the late stage of the solidification of the weld. The cracks can be small and therefore difficult to detect by nondestructive test methods. LÄS MER
