  1. 1. Stress Management Interventions and Predictors of Long-term Health : Prospectively Controlled Studies on Long-term Pain Patients and a Healthy Sample from IT- and Media Companies

    Författare :Dan Hasson; Ulla Maria Anderberg; Töres Theorell; Ulf Lundberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Social medicine; stress; health promotion; stress management; public health; psychosocial; self-rated health; pain; intervention; web; Internet; TNF-alpha; DHEA; NPY; CgA; Socialmedicin; Social medicine; Socialmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis reports on the effects of stress management on long-term pain patients and on a healthy sample from IT and media companies; two groups that are commonly exposed to high stress levels. Even if there are important differences between these two groups, there are similarities such as the necessity for effective stress management. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Bending and Mending the Neurosignature : Elicting the Relaxation Response with help of Flotation-REST ( Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) in Patients with Stress Related Pain

    Författare :Sven-Åke Bood; Torsten Norlander; Gun Nordström; Lars-Gösta Dahlöf; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Burn-out; flotation-REST; pain; prolactin; relaxation response; stress; attention; depression; placebo.; Psychology; Psykologi; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract. The overarching purpose of the current thesis was to assess the long term effects of a documented treatment program involving flotation-REST for the experience of pain, from the point of view of variables connected with Melzack´s neuromatrix theory, and to examine the extent of a potential attention-placebo effect in connection with flotation-REST. 3. 3. Bending and Mending the Neurosignature : Frameworks of influence by flotation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) upon well-being in patients with stress related ailments

    Författare :Sven Åke Bood; Torsten Norlander; Gun Nordström; Jarl Risberg; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Attention-placebo; Burn-out; Depression; Flotation-REST; Pain; Prolactin; Relaxation response; Stress; Therapy; Psychology; Psykologi; Psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : The overarching purpose of the current thesis was to assess the long term effects of a treatment program involving flotation-REST for the experience of pain, from the point of view of variables connected with Melzack´s neuromatrix theory, and to examine the extent of a potential attention-placebo effect in connection with flotation-REST.The first study (Paper I) aimed to investigate long-term effects of flotation-REST four months after treatment. 4. 4. Relaxation and nanomechanical studies of the vickers residual stress field in glass

    Författare :Kwadwo O. Kese; Bill Bergman; Sture Hogmak; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; soda-lime glass; vickers residual stress field; nanoindentation; stress rekaxatuib; cube corner indenter; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The Vickers residual stress field (VRSF) in soda-lime glass results from the elastic-plastic contact event that takes place when a Vickers diamond pyramid is loaded onto the surface of the material in an indentation cycle. The importance of elastic-plastic indentation lies in the contact damage that it gives rise to in the surface of the glass. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Influence of Residual Stresses on Constant and Variable Amplitude Fatigue Behaviour of Steel

    Författare :Kamellia Dalaei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steel; Relaxation; Residual stress; Variable Amplitude; Shot peening; Fatigue;

    Sammanfattning : Subjected to dynamic loading, truck components are exposed to variable amplitude fatigue. The fatigue life of components is to a large degree controlled by the behaviour of the surface zones. LÄS MER
