  1. 1. Detection of Bio-analytes with Streaming Current : From Fundamental Principles to Novel Applications

    Författare :Siddharth S. Sahu; Apurba Dev; Shi-Li Zhang; Michel Calame; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Streaming current; Electrokinetic biosensor; Size and Charge effects; membrane protein profiling of extracellular vesicles; sandwich immunoassay; charge-labelled antibodies; multiplexed detection; exosome heterogeneity;

    Sammanfattning : A biosensor based on streaming current is a new and relatively unexplored subject with significant potential. This thesis attempts to gain a deeper understanding of the governing principles, and then exploit them to further improve its performance as well as develop novel applications. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Utilizing Heterogeneity in Manycore Architectures for Streaming Applications

    Författare :Süleyman Savas; Tomas Nordström; Zain Ul-Abdin; Håkan Grahn; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manycores; parallel architectures; parallelism; streaming applications; dataflow; manycore design; heterogeneous manycores;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decade, we have seen a transition from single-core to manycore in computer architectures due to performance requirements and limitations in power consumption and heat dissipation. The first manycores had homogeneous architectures consisting of a few identical cores. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of Techniques for Characterization, Detection and Protein Profiling of Extracellular Vesicles

    Författare :Sara Cavallaro; Jan Linnros; Apurba Dev; Hakho Lee; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellular vesicles; streaming current; fluorescence microscopy; atomic force microscopy; scanning electron microscopy; protein profiling; size profiling; Biological and Biomedical Physics; Biologisk och biomedicinsk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Nanosized extracellular vesicles (EVs, ∼30-2000 nm) have emerged as important mediators of intercellular communication, offering opportunities for both diagnostics and therapeutics. In particular, small EVs generated from the endolysosomal pathway (∼30-150 nm), referred to as exosomes, have attracted interest as a suitable biomarker for cancer diagnostics and treatment monitoring based on minimally invasive liquid biopsies. 4. 4. Design and Implementation of Centrally-Coordinated Peer-to-Peer Live-streaming

    Författare :Roberto Roverso; Seif Haridi; Sameh El-Ansary; Jim Dowling; Peter Van Roy; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peer-to-peer; live-streaming; nat traversal; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Computer engineering; Datorteknik; SRA - ICT; SRA - Informations- och kommunikationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we explore the use of a centrally-coordinated peer-to-peer overlay as a possible solution to the live streaming problem. Our contribution lies in showing that such approach is indeed feasible given that a number of key challenges are met. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Live Streaming Performance of Peer-to-Peer Systems

    Författare :Ilias Chatzidrossos; György Dán; Renato Lo Cigno; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : In peer-to-peer (P2P) live streaming systems peers organize themselves in an overlay and contributewith their resources to help diffuse live content to all peers in a timely manner. The performanceof such systems is usually characterized by the delay-loss curve, which quantifies theplayback delay required for achieving a certain streaming quality, expressed as the chunk missingratio at the peers.
