16. Lubricants influence on wear in sharp rail curves
Sammanfattning : Rail lubrication in curves was widely introduced in Sweden during the 1970’s due to the high wear rate of gauge faces in sharp curves. The first tests performed in Sweden showed that lubrication decreased wear rates by roughly 10 times. Based upon these results, the Swedish track system was equipped with wayside lubricators called Clicomatic. LÄS MER
17. Opportunities for Weight Reduction in Composite Marine Structures
Sammanfattning : Composite marine structures are desirable for a variety of reasons. Compared to traditional steel structures, they enable the construction of vessels with lower fuel consumption, higher top speed, better stability, lower maintenance, higher cargo capacity, or combinations thereof. 18. Noise radiation from drill steels : and other experimental investigations in acoustics and fluid mechanics
Sammanfattning : Drill rod noise has become a major noise source in percussive drilling. Generation of flexural waves, which seem to be responsible for most of the noise, is studied in a model with dynamic photoelasticity and in the real drill rod with strain gauge technique. LÄS MER
19. Rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using patellar tendon or hamstring grafts : open and closed kinetic chain exercises
Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to improve the knowledge of appropriate exercises, the influence of preoperative factors for good clinical outcome as well as the patient s experience of the rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with patellar tendon or hamstring graft. Methods: The strain in the anteromedial bundle of the ACL was measured with the strain gauge technique in nine patients scheduled for meniscectomy. LÄS MER
20. Nozzle design for pulsed water jets : an analytical, numerical and experimental study
Sammanfattning : A study is made of the early time behaviour of pulsed water jets generated by the action of a shock wave moving through a waterfilled nozzle. In particular the influence of nozzle geometry on the exit velocity is examined. LÄS MER
