21. Modelling Interfacial Details in Tyre/Road Contact Adhesion Forces and Non-Linear Contact Stiffness
Sammanfattning : Rolling resistance, noise generation, and wear are all determined by the interaction process between the rolling automotive vehicle tyre and the road. A deep understandingof the interaction process is needed for optimisation aiming at reducing these effects. LÄS MER
22. Induction heating of carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites : Characterization and modelling
Sammanfattning : Carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRP) are lightweight materials with great potential due to their high strength and stiffness relative to their weight. This enables weight reduction in, for example, vehicles, which is important in reducing energy consumption. LÄS MER
23. Adhesive Joints in Timber Engineering. Modelling and Testing of Fracture Properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis, which is a compilation of seven papers, concerns the mechanical testing, numerical analysis and constitutive modelling of wood-adhesive bonds in timber engineering. Applications such as finger-joints, glued-laminated timber and glued-in rods are considered. LÄS MER
24. On efficient and adaptive modelling of friction damping in bladed disks
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on efficient modelling and adaptive control of friction damping in bladed disks. To efficiently simulate the friction contact, a full-3D time-discrete contact model is reformulated and an analytical expression for the Jacobian matrix is derived that reduces the computation time drastically with respect to the classical finite difference method. 25. Modelling of Inelastic Effects in Metal Sheets and Identification of Material Parameters
Sammanfattning : The continuum modelling of the macroscopic behaviour of metallic sheets and the identification of corresponding material parameters for models selected are dealt with in the thesis. Thermodynamics with internal variables provides a framework for the derivation of the models. LÄS MER
