21. Model based aircraft design : high angle of attack aerodynamics and weight estimation methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses modelling of high angle of attack aerodynamic characteristics and weight estimation for highly maneuverable aircraft during conceptual design. In order to allow configuration selection with sufficient confidence, especially with unconventional configurations, high angle of attack aerodynamic prediction and weight estimations methods need to be improved. 22. Application of Statistical Methods : Challenges Related to Continuous Industrial Processes
Sammanfattning : For decades, many efficient statistical improvement methods have been available to improve the quality of processes and products. Statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis (CA), and design of experiments (DoE) are among the most powerful process monitoring and problem-solving methods in the quality engineering toolbox. 23. Vårdmiljö eller lärandemiljö? : om personer med autism inom vuxenpsykiatrin
Sammanfattning : The research field of the thesis is clinical adult psychiatry and it focuses on the treatment of patients with autism spectrum disorders. Before the publication of DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) in 1994 intellectually high-functioning patients with autism have not been included in diagnostic manuals and received appropriate treatment in adult psychiatry. 24. Statistical molecular design, QSAR modeling, and scaffold hopping – Development of type III secretion inhibitors in Gram negative bacteria
Sammanfattning : Type III secretion is a virulence system utilized by several clinically important Gram-negative pathogens. Computational methods have been used to develop two classes of type III secretion inhibitors, the salicylidene acylhydrazides and the acetylated salicylanilides. LÄS MER
25. Statistical modeling in international large-scale assessments
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to the area of research based on large-scale educational assessments, focusing on the application of multilevel models. The role of sampling weights, plausible values (response variable imputed multiple times) and imputation methods are demonstrated by simulations and applications to TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) data.
