1. Feed-forward Control and Dynamic Modelling in Temperature Control of Buildings
Sammanfattning : This thesis is mainly about the investigations of different control strategies (and in particular feed-forward) in order to improve indoor climate and/or save energy in buildings. One part of the thesis deals with different ways to obtain dynamic models for climate systems in buildings. LÄS MER
2. Discrete Event Process Modeling of Manufacturing Systems Using Sensor Graphs
Sammanfattning : The design of control programs for manufacturing systemsis becoming more and more complex as the demands for flexibility, efficiency and reconfigurability increase, due tochanging consumer demands and fierce competition. There are methods stemming from academia that can assist the control programmersin facing these challenges. 3. On Observer-Based Control of Nonlinear Systems
Sammanfattning : Filtering and reconstruction of signals play a fundamental role in modern signal processing, telecommunications, and control theory and are used in numerous applications. The feedback principle is an important concept in control theory. LÄS MER
4. Nonlinear Modeling and Feedback Control of Drug Delivery in Anesthesia
Sammanfattning : General anesthesia is a drug-induced reversible state where neuromuscular blockade (NMB), hypnosis, and analgesia (jointly denoted by depth of anesthesia - DoA) are guaranteed. This thesis concerns mathematical modeling and feedback control of the effect of the muscle relaxants atracurium and rocuronium, the hypnotic propofol, and the analgesic remifentanil. LÄS MER
5. Closed-Loop Combustion Control of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management
Sammanfattning : The current Spark Ignited (SI) engine equipped with three-way catalyst offers low emissions, but has low efficiency at part load, which results in unnecessarily high CO2 emissions. The Compression Ignited (CI) engines have higher efficiency and hence lower CO2 emissions, but suffer from higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, and no three-way catalyst can be used.
