16. Medical decision support systems based on the Arden Syntax in the clinical laboratory
Sammanfattning : Decision Support Systems (DSSs) are computer systems that permit explicit representation of knowledge and can execute a computer program that uses the knowledge to assist in the decision process. A clinical DSS uses both clinical data and medical knowledge to help health professionals make clinical decisions. LÄS MER
17. Distributed Clocking and Clock Generation in Digital CMOS SoC ASICs
Sammanfattning : With shrinking technologies and higher clock rates comes the possibility to transform multi chip implementations to a single System on Chip (SoC). Implementing clock distribution and limiting the power consumption becomes increasingly troublesome with increased clock rate and chip area. LÄS MER
18. Representation theorems for abelian and model categories
Sammanfattning : In this PhD thesis we investigate a representation theorem for small abelian categories and a representation theorem for left proper, enriched model categories, with the purpose of describing them concretely in terms of specific well-known categories. For the abelian case, we study the constructivity issues of the Freyd-Mitchell Embedding Theorem, which states the existence of a full embedding from a small abelian category into the category of modules over an appropriate ring. 19. Validity and usability of a virtual reality intraocular surgical simulator
Sammanfattning : Cataract surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures in Sweden and around 90 000 operations are made each year. An aging population with increased demands on quality of life and good visual acuity, has led to an increased rate of surgery and more surgeons needs to be trained. LÄS MER
20. Towards adaptive sensor networks
Sammanfattning : Wireless sensor networks consist of many small embedded devices that are equipped with sensors and a wireless communication unit. These devices, or sensor nodes, are typically low cost, resource constrained and battery-powered. LÄS MER
