   Sammanfattning : Stockholm, in just a few decades, was transformed from a largely medieval fortress town to a modern capital city. The street regulation which was carried out in Stockholm during the years 1625-1650 and which in the central parts of the city still exist as a recognizable pattern for streets and city blocks was an important part of this transformation.
