21. Coordinated Voltage Control in Electric Power Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with various aspects of coordinated voltage control in electric power systems. It consists of an introduction and six papers. The introduction contains a summary of the thesis and tutorials on voltage control and the search methods that have been applied. LÄS MER
22. A sub-5 fs 100 TW optical parametric synthesizer
Sammanfattning : State-of-the-art ultrashort light sources in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions provide direct access to the femtosecond realm, thereby enabling understanding and control of electronic processes within matter. On the other hand, ultra-intense light pulses lead to the emergence of relativistic electron motion and many related phenomena, such as electron & ion acceleration and high-order harmonic generation in plasmas. 23. Probabilistic Stability Analysis of Underground Mine Excavations
Sammanfattning : The creation of underground mine excavation disturbs the original state of the rock mass surrounding the excavation which often leads to instability of the excavation. This poses a threat to the safety of personnel and equipment in and around such excavations. LÄS MER
24. Behaviour and stability of shallow underground constructions
Sammanfattning : The growing needs of urbanization, like more transport possibilities, sewers, maintenance tunnels, the need of constructing shallow tunnels increase. By a better understanding of the mechanical properties and state of stress in the shallow parts of the bedrock it may be possible to determine which factors that are of importance at a specific construction site, and thereby increase the cost efficiency of pre-investigations and the tunnel construction. 25. Intestinal permeability : a parameter of mucosal dysfunction
Sammanfattning : The gastrointestinal tract has two opposing functions; to absorb nutrients and electrolytes, and to act as a barrier towards hazardous and non-nutritional substances. In the present thesis the barrier function of the gastrointestinal tract was studied in animal models in vivo, in situ and in vitro. LÄS MER
