    Sammanfattning : The Rho GTPases, which are related to the Ras family of proto-oncogenes, have been found to have important roles in regulating the morphogenic and migratory properties of eukaryotic cells. In addition, these proteins have been shown to regulate aspects of cell signaling, cell growth, cell division and cell survival. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Signal transduction pathways involved in PDGF receptor-induced cellular responses

    Författare :Roya Hooshmand-Rad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), is a potent connective tissue cell mitogen and chemoattractant which binds to two structurally related receptors denoted PDGF α- and β- receptors. Upon binding of PDGF to the receptor, signaling molecules containing Src Homology 2 (SH2) domains are recruited to the activated receptor and mediate propagation of the signal. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular biology of Brouton's tyrosine kinase

    Författare :Carl-Magnus Bäckesjö; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :X-linked agammaglobulinemia; XLA; Bruton s tyrosine kinase; Btk; signal transduction; phosphorylation; pleckstrin homology domain; PH; SH2; SH3.;

    Sammanfattning : X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) is caused by an arrest in the B lymphocyte differentiation. XLA patients lack mature B-cells and subsequently antibody production. The defective gene causing XLA is the BTK gene, which codes for the protein Bruton s tyrosine kinase (Btk), a cytoplasmic enzyme related to the Src family of kinases. LÄS MER
