  1. 1. Leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain (LRIG) proteins : possible prognostic markers in vulvar squamous cell carcinoma, endometrial carcinoma, and oropharymgeal squamous cell carcinoma

    Författare :Husam Oda; David Lindquist; Eva Lundin; Ulrika Ottander; Kristina Stefansson; Kate Cuschieri; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma; endometrial carcinoma; oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma; LRIG1-3; HPV; LMO7; HPV-driven; non-HPV-driven; prognosis; overall survival; disease-free survival; p53; Ki-67; CD8 TILs; CD44.; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : The human leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain (LRIG) gene family comprises three genes, LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3, which encode the LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3 proteins, respectively. Previous stidies have revealed the different prognostic roles of these proteins in different cancers, and it has been shown that LRIG1 functions as a tumour suppressor in certain cancers via its negative regulation of several receptor tyrosine kinases. 2. 2. Non-coding RNAs and Extracellular Vesicles in Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

    Författare :Chen Li; Andor Pivarcsi; Gareth Inman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma; microRNA; long non-coding RNA; extracellular vesicle;

    Sammanfattning : Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) ranks among the most widespread malignancies with metastatic potential. Investigating the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis will enhance our understanding of cSCC. Aberrant expression of non-coding RNAs has been extensively reported in human cancers. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Background: Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN)comprises a large group of tumours including the oral cavity and nasopharyngealarea, and typically affects older males in association with alcohol/tobacco usage.Within the oral cavity, the mobile tongue is the most common site for tumourdevelopment. 4. 4. Invasion and Proliferation in Malignant Cells

    Författare :Sofie Svensson Månsson; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; breast cancer; squamous cell carcinoma; basal cell carcinoma; p16; proliferation; invasion; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Two key events in the oncogenic process of tumor cells are to acquire uncontrolled proliferation and invasive properties. This allows the tumor to grow and invade beyond the tissue from which the tumor cells originate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Radioimmunotherapy in Experimental Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma : Tumour-targeting in vitro and in vivo

    Författare :Junping Cheng; Matti Anniko; Mats Engström; Vladimir Tolmachev; Torgny Stigbrand; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) has been shown to be a practicable way to treat head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. A specific antibody recognizes the charasteristic structure of tumour cells when loaded with cytotoxic agents (toxins, drugs, radionuclides, etc). LÄS MER
