Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to investigate the metaphorization of ROMANTIC LOVE in spoken Swedish. The study is based on 4 semi-structured focus group conversations with participants in two age groups; 24–33 and 50–54. 2. Topics in the grammar of Kuot, a non-Austronesian language of New Ireland, Papua New Guinea
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes certain areas in the grammar of the little-known Kuot language, spoken by some 1,500 people in New Ireland Province in Papua New Guinea. Kuot is an isolate, and is the only non-Austronesian (Papuan) language of that province. The analyses presented here are based on original data from 18 months of linguistic fieldwork. LÄS MER

4. The Bilingual Lexicon from a Developmental Perspective : A Word Association Study of Persian-Swedish Bilinguals
Sammanfattning : Some studies have shown that the L1 mental lexicon is organized mainly on a semantic basis, while the organization of the L2 mental lexicon in the early stages of development is phonologically based, that is non-semantic, indicating a less profound lexical knowledge and eliciting a higher degree of nonnative-like associations. Sammanfattning : Many studies have shown that Second Language (L2) Medium of Instruction (MoI) policies in Africa are linked to educational inequity, substandard teaching practice, low literacy skills and poor overall academic performance. In the light of this background, this thesis aims to make a more thorough inquiry into questions related to language-in-education policies, L2 as MoI, and academic success in the Seychelles, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean.
