16. Compounds with Non-Buttressed Metal-Metal Bond between Platinum and Thallium. Model Systems for Photoinduced Two-Electron-Transfer
Sammanfattning : A new family of oligonuclear cyano compounds incorporatingtransition (Pt) and main group (Tl) metals bound with anon-buttressed Pt-Tl bond was synthesised in aqueous solution. The metal-metal linkage is formed in the reaction betweenplatinum and thallium in their stable oxidation forms, Pt(II)and Tl(III), orvice versa: Pt(IV) and Tl(I). 17. Studies of PWO Crystals and Simulations of the p̅p →Λ̅Λ, Λ̅Σ0 Reactions for the PANDA Experiment
Sammanfattning : The thesis comprises investigations of two topics related to the PANDA experiment. The first part is dedicated to energy resolution and light yield uniformity studies of PWO crystals for the electromagnetic calorimeter. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to simulation studies of the p̅p→Λ̅Λ and the p̅p→Λ̅Σ0 channels. LÄS MER
18. NMR Self-Diffusion Studies and Stability Studies of Emulsions
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to characterize emulsion systems by self-diffusion PGSE NMR methods. The specifics of the emulsions studied are all taken from the literature and they are of the W/O or O/W type stabilized with different emulsifiers. LÄS MER
19. Thin films of polyfluorene:fullerene blends - Morphology and its role in solar cell performance
Sammanfattning : The sun provides us daily with large quantities of energy in the form of light. With the world’s increasing demand of electrical energy the prospect of converting this solar light into electricity is highly tempting. In the strive towards mass-production and low cost solar cells, new types of solar cells are being developed, e.g. LÄS MER
20. Interacting particle systems in varying environment, stochastic domination in statistical mechanics and optimal pairs trading in finance
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we first consider the contact process in a randomly evolving environment, introduced by Erik Broman. This process is a generalization of the contact process where the recovery rate can vary between two values. The rate which it chooses is determined by a background process, which evolves independently at different sites. LÄS MER
