    Sammanfattning : The Hindu Çåktism and Tantrism are based on psychological assumptions and philosophical theories that are closely related to ritual phenomena. The primary purpose of this thesis is to present a psychological understanding of this relation, more specifically from the point of view of object-relations theory, and even to some extent, Sundén's role-theory, speech act theory and Lacan's use of the concepts of "metaphor" and "metonymy".     Sammanfattning : This thesis argues that general subordinators, such as the Germanic THAT and IF, denote propositional modality. Propositional modality stands for the “speaker’s attitude to the truth-value or factual status of the proposition” (Palmer 2001:24) and is otherwise expressed by moods such as the indicative-subjunctive and epistemic-evidential modal markers.
