1. Conjugated materials for organic electronic devices : photoelectron spectroscopy studies
Sammanfattning : Conjugated materials have attracted great attention since the discovery of high conductivity in donor and acceptor doped polyacetylene over two decades ago. The discoveries mentioned below caused, however, that the interest begun to shift towards their pristine semi-conducting state. LÄS MER
2. Towards Mixed Molecular Layers for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells : A Photoelectron Spectroscopy Study
Sammanfattning : The increasing demand for renewable energy has led to substantial research on different solar cell technologies. The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is a technology utilizing dye molecules for light absorption. LÄS MER
3. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals
Sammanfattning : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. LÄS MER
4. Molecules and Light : A Journey into the World of Theoretical Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Two of the main technological challenges of the century are the production of clean energy, on the one hand, and the development of new materials for electronic and spintronic applications that could increase the speed and the storage capacity of regular electronic devices, on the other hand. Organic materials, including fullerenes, organic polymers and organic molecules with metal centres are promising candidates for low-cost, flexible and clean technologies that can address these challenges. 5. Photoelectron Spectroscopy on Atoms, Molecules and Clusters : The Geometric and Electronic Structure Studied by Synchrotron Radiation and Lasers
Sammanfattning : Atoms, molecules and clusters all constitute building blocks of macroscopic matter. Therefore, understanding the electronic and geometrical properties of such systems is the key to understanding the properties of solid state objects. LÄS MER
