11. Seismic Investigations at the Ketzin CO2 Injection Site, Germany: Applications to Subsurface Feature Mapping and CO2 Seismic Response Modeling
Sammanfattning : 3D seismic data are widely used for many different purposes. Despite different objectives, a common goal in almost all 3D seismic programs is to attain better understanding of the subsurface features. LÄS MER
12. Spatial Decompositions of a Fully-developed Turbulent Round Jet Sampled with Particle Image Velocimetry
Sammanfattning : Spatial decompositions of the turbulence in a far, axisymmetric jet at exit Reynolds number of 20, 000 have been performed. Equilibrium similaritytheory applied to the two-point Reynolds stresses has shown that the turbulence statistics in the far, fully developed region of an axisymmetric jet should be independent of origin in the streamwise direction when evaluated on the similarity coordinates system. 13. Enhancement of Salient Image Regions for Visual Object Detection
Sammanfattning : Salient object/region detection aims at finding interesting regions in images and videos, since such regions contain important information and easily attract human attention. The detected regions can be further used for more complicated computer vision applications such as object detection and recognition, image compression, content-based image editing, and image retrieval. 14. Adipose Tissue Heterogeneity - Development and Application of Nonlinear Microscopy Methods
Sammanfattning : Although the negative health impacts of obesity have been well documented, the number of overweight or obese patients has and is predicted to continue rising. One of the causal factors of obesity is a constant positive energy balance mainly from excessively high caloric intake from food compared with limited physical activity (caloric expenditure). LÄS MER
15. Spectral image quality and applications in breast tomosynthesis
Sammanfattning : In the 1970s, it was determined that screening mammography is an efficient tool in fighting the increasing number of women dying from breast cancer, and many countries have established screening programs since then. Mammography systems have improved substantially over the years with one of the major advances being the transition from x-ray film to digital x-ray detectors. LÄS MER
