  1. 6. Data Abstraction and Pattern Identification in Time-series Data

    Författare :Prithiviraj Muthumanickam; Matthew Cooper; Katerina Vrotsou; Aida Nordman; Jimmy Johansson; Anders Ynnerman; Silvia Miksch; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Data sources such as simulations, sensor networks across many application domains generate large volumes of time-series data which exhibit characteristics that evolve over time. Visual data analysis methods can help us in exploring and understanding the underlying patterns present in time-series data but, due to their ever-increasing size, the visual data analysis process can become complex. 2. 7. Fishing the gene pool : Genetic structure, admixture and behavioural complexity in fisheries management

    Författare :Kim H. Berndt; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fisheries management; Fishery stock; Stock discrimination; Genetic structure; Genetic admixture; Admixture zone; Stock substructure; Phenotypic divergence; Gadus morhua; Salmo trutta;

    Sammanfattning : Prudent management of marine fish resources relies on separation and management of biologically meaningful groups of conspecifics, termed fishery stocks, often depicted as self-sustaining, spatiotemporally separated and demographically independent entities. Such stock discrimination has however proven challenging. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Relationships between nomenclature, phylogenetics and systematics

    Författare :Yann Bertrand; Mikael Härlin; Mieczyslaw Wolsan; Södertörns högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PhyloCode; philosophy; systematics; individuality; natural kind; possible worlds; causal theory of reference; PhyloCode; philosophy; systematics; individuality; natural kind; possible worlds; causal theory of reference;

    Sammanfattning : Systematists have become increasingly aware of the limits imposed by the current system of nomenclature for accurately representing evolutionary relationships and managing efficiently names associated with clades. In reaction, a new system of nomenclature, the PhyloCode is being developed that fully recognizes the historical nature of taxonomy and the importance of the cladistics revolution. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Monopolar and Bipolar Membranes in Organic Bioelectronic Devices

    Författare :Erik O. Gabrielsson; Magnus Berggren; Edwin Jager; Daniel Simon; Ari Ivaska; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bioelectronics; ionic; ion transport; bipolar membrane; conjugated polymer; amyloid; self-assembly;

    Sammanfattning : In the 1970s it was discovered that organic polymers, a class of materials otherwise best know as insulating plastics, could be made electronically conductive. As an alternative to silicon semiconductors, organic polymers offer many novel features, characteristics, and opportunities, such as producing electronics at low costs using printing techniques, using organic chemistry to tune optical and electronic properties, and mechanical flexibility. 5. 10. Swedish seagrass ecosystems in a changing climate : Coastal connectivity and global change sensitivity

    Författare :Diana Perry; Martin Gullström; Jason Hall-Spencer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coastal seascape; shallow-water ecosystems; fish assemblages; connectivity; global change; climate change; multiple stressors; seagrass; Zostera marina; temperate region; Marine Ecology; marin ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Coastal shallow-water ecosystems are essential for providing several goods and services globally, with seagrasses as an important contributor for maintaining high biodiversity and productivity within the nearshore seascape. The temperate species Zostera marina serves as a vital habitat for many species, including ecologically and economically important juvenile fish. LÄS MER
