  1. 16. Associations between body functions, activities and health-related quality of life from onset until 18 months after stroke

    Författare :Anna-Karin Welmer; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Hand function; health-related quality of life; mobility limitation; muscle spasticity; paresis; perceptual disorders; self-care; somatosensory disorders; stroke; synergy;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction and aims: In planning rehabilitation services for patients with stroke, it is important to know the frequency of the impairments and activity limitations presented by the patients and also how each body function and activity is associated with other body functions and activities, as well as the patients health-related quality of life (HRQL) at different time-points after stroke. The overall aims of the thesis were to describe body functions, activities and HRQL in patients with stroke and to analyse the associations between those variables, in the first week and at three and 18 months after stroke onset.     Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Most activities of daily living require skillful use of our hands. Whatever the complexity of the task, our ability to perform any motor function largely relies on the integrity of the widely distributed corticomotor network. Damage to the central nervous system at any stage our life results in functional limitations to various extents. LÄS MER
