  1. 1. Accelerator-driven systems : source efficiency and reacitvity determination

    Författare :Andrei Fokau; Jan Wallenius; Viktor Tikhomirov; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Accelerator-driven systems (ADS) are being investigated and designed for transmutation of the long-lived nuclear waste. Application of ADS allows to safely transmute large fractions of minor actinides (MA) per reactor core, while the fraction in critical reactors is limited to a few percent due to the safety constraints. 2. 2. Experimental Determination of Aeracoustic Sources in Low Mach Number Internal Flows

    Författare :Andreas Holmberg; Hans Bodén; Lars Enghardt; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aeracoustics; ducts; N-ports; scattering matrix; wave decomposition; source determination; over-determination; flow noise; fluid-acoustic interaction; fluid-structure-acoustic interaction; wave number; T-junction; power balance; grazing-bias flow; Acoustics; Akustik; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the in-duct experimental methods for determining aeroacoustic N-ports of in-duct elements are discussed and improved. The scattering matrix determination methods and the related wave decomposition methods are evaluated from measurements in an empty duct carrying a mean flow. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Analyses and Application of Ambient Seismic Noise in Sweden : Source, Interferometry, Tomography

    Författare :Hamzeh Sadeghisorkhani; Ólafur Gudmundsson; Ari Tryggvason; Roland Roberts; Frederik Tilmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Seismic interferometry; Ambient noise; Surface wave; Wave propagation; Inverse theory; Sweden; Geofysik med inriktning mot seismologi; Geophysics with specialization in Seismology;

    Sammanfattning : Ambient seismic noise from generation to its application for determination of sub-surface velocity structures is analyzed using continuous data recordings from the Swedish National Seismic Network (SNSN). The fundamental aim of the thesis is to investigate the applicability of precise velocity measurements from ambient noise data. LÄS MER

  4. 4. From source to the environment : Strategies for identification and determination of hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in complex particulate matrices

    Författare :Rozanna Avagyan; Roger Westerholm; Conny Östman; Marja-Liisa Riekkola; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; OH-PAHs; hydroxy-PAHs; particulate matter; PM; airborne particles; combustion particles; wood combustion; suspect screening; non-target screening; high resolution mass spectrometry; HRMS; atmospheric pressure photoionization; APPI; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Adverse health effects have been linked to exposure to particulate matter, and wood combustion is considered as an important source of harmful particulate matter in the urban air and environment. Hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a group of compounds with toxic, endocrine disrupting and carcinogenic properties. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The Emergence of Conditional Subordinators in Swedish : A Study in Grammaticalization

    Författare :Henrik Rosenkvist; tolkning i offentlig sektor och översättning danska och isländska Avdelningen för svenska; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Scandinavian languages and literature; conditionality; source determination; image schema; abstraction; bleaching; grammaticalization; reanalysis; language change; syntax; Nordiska språk språk och litteratur ; subordinator; conditional;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is an empirical and theoretical study of the emergence of five Swedish conditional subordinators: utan, om, hvar, ifall and bara. The first changes occur in the 13th century, and the last in the 18th century. LÄS MER
