    Sammanfattning : Aqueous mixtures of two non-ionic polymers, poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and the amphiphilic triblock copolymer, (EO)27(PO)67(EO)27, known by its trade name Pluronic® P104, showed an associative phase separation (miscibility gap), which decreased with the decrease of PAA length. It was found that PAA is a much less selective “solvent” to P104 molecules than water. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the synthesis, structure, equilibriaand other properties of novel thallium(III) monomeric andplatinum-bonded complexes with nitrogen donor ligandsethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine,porphyrin, 2,2'-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline in solutionand in solid.The existence of three complexes withthe general formula[Tl(en)n]3+(n = 1-3) and their overall stability constantshave been established in pyridine.     Sammanfattning : Three-dimensional structures of two redox enzymes, glutathione peroxidase from human plasma and a protein disulfide oxidoreductase from the archaeon Pyrococcus furiosus, have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Glutathione peroxidases constitute a family of antioxidant seleno-enzymes that catalyze the reduction of a variety of hydroperoxides. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The green transition is driving a steep increase in the demand for minerals, which has put the focus on more responsible and sustainable mining practices as there is a growing pressure on mining operations to minimise their environmental footprint, mitigate risks in neighbouring communities, and decrease the consumption of natural resources. In 2022, mineral froth flotation was used to recover 18 million tonnes of copper from copper ore, accounting for 80% of total copper mine output. LÄS MER
