  1. 16. ORDO AB CHAO : Den politiska historien om biodrivmedel i den Europeiska Unionen – Aktörer, nätverk och strategier

    Författare :Jacob Nordangård; Jenny Palm; Hans Holmén; Stefan Anderberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Biofuels; EU; policy; network; trigger event; natural resources; Biodrivmedel; EU; policy; nätverk; utlösande händelser; naturresurser;

    Sammanfattning : Biodrivmedel blev efter millennieskiftet en alltmer prioriterad energikälla för EU och ansågs kunna stävja både klimathot och energissäkerhetsproblem samtidigt som drivmedelsproduktionen skulle gynna sysselsättningen i jordbruket. EUkommissionen formulerade 2007 ett mål om att ersätta 10 % av transportenergin till biodrivmedel. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Microclimate at range margins : Consequences for boreal forest understory species

    Författare :Caroline Greiser; Kristoffer Hylander; Johan Ehrlén; Eric Meineri; Miska Luoto; Alistair Jump; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microclimate; species distribution; range dynamics; boreal forest; canopy cover; topography; soil moisture; air humidity; bryophytes; lichens; vascular plants; biotic interactions; forest management; biodiversity conservation; ekologi och evolution; Ecology and Evolution;

    Sammanfattning : A warmer climate will shift species distributional range margins poleward, but near-ground microclimates may modify these shifts. Cold-adapted northern species at their rear edge may survive locally in microrefugia with a colder microclimate, and warm-adapted southern species at their leading edge may colonize stepping stone habitats with a warmer microclimate. 3. 18. The Story of Phosphorus : Sustainability implications of global phosphorus scarcity for food security

    Författare :Dana Cordell; Stuart White; Jan-Olof Drangert; Julie Wilk; Johan Rockström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; global phosphorus scarcity; peak phosphorus; global food security; sustainable resource use; food production and consumption system; transdisciplinary; systems thinking; global fosforbrist; peak fosfor; global matsäkerhet; hållbar resursanvändning; system för produktion och konsumtion av mat; transdisciplinaritet; systemtänkande; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : The story of phosphorus began with the search for the philosopher’s stone, and centuries later the critical role of phosphorus in soil fertility and crop growth was highlighted. Eventually, phosphorus was implicated in the global environmental challenge of eutrophication. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Groundwater Vulnerability Assessment to pollution in Different Soil and Rock Materials

    Författare :Twana Abdullah; Nadhir Al-Ansari; Sven Knutsson; Jan Laue; Sabbar Alqaisi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Groundwater; Vulnerability; DRASTIC; VLDA; Modification; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The augmentation of human population regularly corresponds with change in the land cover, including expansion of urban areas, which imposes increasing the available amount of domestic and drinking water. The study area, Halabja-Saidsadiq Basin, is situated in the Northeast of Iraq and is one of the major groundwater sources of the region. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Impacts of Regional Climate Change on Swedish Forests: An Evaluation Using Process-based Regional Ecosystem Modelling Approach

    Författare :Deniz Koca; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fysisk geografi; Geologi; Geology; physical geography; Sweden; forest management; diversity; carbon sequestration; net primary productivity; regional climate change; process-based regional ecosystem modelling;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to provide a representative estimate of the potential impacts of climate change and increased atmospheric CO2 concentrations on Swedish forest ecosystems and the key ecosystem services they provide. In order to achieve this task, fi rst LPJ-GUESS, a process-based regional ecosystem modelling framework, was applied to explore how possible shifts in climatic zones according to a range of regional climate scenarios may lead to changes in the tree species distribution and composition, net primary productivity (NPP) and carbon sequestration capacity of potential natural ecosystems on species level and at the regional scale.
