  1. 1. Arkitektur och social ingenjörskonst : Studier i svensk arkitektur- och bostadsforskning

    Författare :Ulf Sandström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Architecture; Town Planning; Housing Research; Technocracy; Social Engineering; Technology Studies; Politics; Functionalism; Bibliographies; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : Artefacts are by definition artificial objects: human creations whose form and function are the result of planned actions. It would appear reasonable to assert that our attitude towards artefacts reveals specific sides of our personality and social organization. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A Needs-Based Approach towards Fostering Long-term Engagement with Energy Feedback among Local Residents

    Författare :Aram Mäkivierikko; Fredrik Gröndahl; Olga Kordas; Hossein Shahrokni; Paula M. Bögel; Cristian M Bogdan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy feedback; Consumer engagement; Energy behaviour; Social networks; Smart grids; Design principles; Energiåterkoppling; konsumentengagemang; Energibeteende; Sociala nätverk; Smarta elnät; Designprinciper; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In order to reach the current climate goals, energy consumption needs to decrease in all sectors, including households, which produce 20% of the European emissions. However, it is difficult to increase residents’ engagement in their household electricity consumption as it is an ‘invisible’ form of energy, the monetary incentives are often too small and environmental incentives are not very effective. Sammanfattning : Over 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions derive from household consumption patterns. To reach the 1.5-degree target set in the Paris Agreement, new interventions to influence household behaviours are needed. This thesis examined two areas, household electricity consumption and waste sorting, where behaviour plays a large role. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sociotechnical system studies of the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from energy and transport systems

    Författare :Linda Olsson; Mats Söderström; Annelie Carlson; Magdalena Fallde; Elisabeth Wetterlund; Kes McCormick; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy systems; transport systems; greenhouse gas emissions; energy policy; transport policy; sociotechnical systems analysis; wicked problem; Energisystem; transportsystem; växthusgasutsläpp; energipolicy; transportpolicy; socioteknisk systemanalys; wicked problem;

    Sammanfattning : It is agreed that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from energy and transport systems must be reduced. Technical means exist to reduce GHG emissions from these sources. However, these emission-reduction measures are not implemented to a high enough degree. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Local Environment at Stake : The Hallandsås Railway Tunnel in a Social and Cultural Context

    Författare :Annelie Sjölander-Lindqvist; Humanekologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydraulic engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Civil engineering; ethnology; Cultural anthropology; groundwater; environmental impact; landscape; Facility siting; local community; Hallandsås railway tunnel; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; etnologi; Kulturantropologi;

    Sammanfattning : A major trend in facility siting research focuses on economic and psychological aspects of land-use regarding the location of potentially hazardous technological facilities including storage for high-level radioactive waste, landfills, chemical plants, large-scale dams, or waste incinerators. Such facilities frequently have profound environmental impact and are often understood by local citizens as intrusions on their environment that threaten landscape, place, and community. LÄS MER
