  1. 1. Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (PiZ): Clinical studies with special regard to hepatic and vasculitic disorders

    Författare :Abdul-Nasser Elzouki; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gastro-enterology; systemic vasculitis; small-vessel vasculitis; serpins; genetic hemochromatosis; chronic hepatitis C; chronic liver disease; Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency; alpha-1-antichymotrypsin deficiency; Gastroenterologi; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Homozygous alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT)deficiency (PiZZ) is known to predispose to emphysema and chronic liver disease (CLD). The overall aim of the studies upon which this thesis is based was to investigate extra-pulmonary disease manifestations of AAT deficiency with special reference to hepatic and vasculitic disorders. 2. 2. The Importance of Demographic and Geographical Factors on the Incidence and Outcome of Systemic Small Vessel Vasculitis Associated with Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies

    Författare :Maria Weiner; Mårten Segelmark; Per Eriksson; Øyvind Palm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitides (AAV) comprise microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). Two serotypes are recognized: myeloperoxidase (MPO)-ANCA and proteinase 3 (PR3)-ANCA. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Inflammatory biomarkers in ANCA-associated vasculitis

    Författare :Ásta Dögg Jónasdóttir; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV) is a heterogenous group of relatively rare and serious small vessel vasculitides, characterized by the presence of proteinase 3 (PR3) ANCA or myeloperoxidase (MPO) ANCA. The disease manifestations vary widely, from a localized form to a serious disease with multi-organ failure. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Clinical and molecular studies in ANCA associated vasculitis

    Författare :Mårten Wendt; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV) is a heterogeneous group of diseases characterised by sterile pauci-immune systemic small vessel inflammation and closely associated with the presence of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmatic antibodies (ANCA). Although AAV can affect any organ, the kidney, skin, lungs and upper and lower airways are most commonly involved. LÄS MER
